Connect CardChain AI to ChatGPT or Claude

CardChain AI is a native ChatGPT app and a standard Claude connector, so the assistant you already use can price any sports card, read PSA, BGS and SGC population, run the grading ROI before you submit, identify a card from a photo, and read your own collection. In ChatGPT, open the app and tap Try in chat. In Claude, add a custom connector and paste https://api.cardchain.ai/mcp/claude. Either way it is about two minutes, there is no browser extension, and it is free to start. Covers 2.2M+ sports cards against 40M+ tracked sales.

What you can ask once it’s connected

Should I grade my 2018 Prizm Luka Doncic rookie?
What's the PSA 10 population on a 2003 Topps Chrome LeBron rookie?

More than a price feed

A price lookup tells you what a card sold for. That is the easy half. The decisions collectors actually face — submit this or sell it raw, is this listing a deal, which of my cards is carrying the collection — need the price put next to something else: the population at each grade, the submission cost, what you paid. CardChain computes those together and hands back a verdict with the figures behind it, rather than a number for a model to narrate.

Under the hood that is 11 tools: search_cards, get_card_price, get_population, should_i_grade, get_portfolio, add_to_portfolio, find_card_to_add, find_card_for_grading, get_cardchain_listings, get_player_stats, get_capabilities.

Settle a card from a photo, in the chat

Card identification is the hard half of card pricing — get the parallel wrong and every number after it is wrong. Send a picture of the card into the conversation and CardChain identifies the exact card, parallel and grade, shows the matches it considered, and prices the one you confirm. No app switch, no typing out a card name you are guessing at.

One account, one portfolio

The cards you add in the iOS or Android app are the cards ChatGPT reads, and a card you add mid-conversation is on your phone before you put it down. Values refresh against the same market data everything else on the platform uses, so the app and the chat never quote you two different numbers.

No browser extension. Setup finishes on a phone.

CardChain is a native ChatGPT app and a standard Claude connector. There is nothing to install in a browser, no desktop-only step, and no API key to copy between sites. You sign in once, on CardChain's own page, from the same phone you photograph cards with.

How to connect

  1. Pick where you want to askChatGPT: open the CardChain AI app in the app directory and tap Try in chat. Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Both reach the same server and the same portfolio.
  2. Sign in to CardChain onceYou are sent to CardChain's own sign-in page. Use the same account as the iOS or Android app and your portfolio is there immediately. CardChain never sees a password belonging to anyone else, and there are no keys to copy.
  3. Add a few cards, or just ask about onePhotograph a card to add it, or ask about any card cold — pricing, population and grading ROI all work with no collection at all.
  4. Ask about a card"What's this worth?", "should I grade it?", "what's my collection worth?" — in plain English. The assistant picks the tool, CardChain runs the lookup, and the answer arrives with the market data behind it.

What it will and will not do

It reads the catalogue, reads population, runs the grading math, and reads and adds to your own portfolio. It will show you live marketplace listings. It will not complete a purchase for you — buying happens in the app or on the site, where you confirm it yourself — and it has no access to anything outside your own CardChain account.

Questions

Can ChatGPT tell me what my trading cards are worth?

Yes, once CardChain AI is added. Without a connector it is recalling a price from training data; with CardChain connected it reads live market data across 2.2M+ cards and 40M+ tracked sales, resolved to the specific parallel, grader and grade.

Which assistants does CardChain work with?

ChatGPT, as a native app in the app directory, and Claude, as a custom MCP connector on web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code. Any other MCP client can use the same server URL. One CardChain account serves all of them plus the iOS and Android apps.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes, and it finishes on a phone. There is no browser extension and no desktop-only step.

Do I need to create a second account?

No. You sign in with the CardChain account you already use in the app. If you do not have one, signing up is free and takes a moment.

What can it actually do once connected?

11 tools: card search, live pricing with a 30-day trend, PSA/BGS/SGC population, grading ROI, photo identification for adding or grading a card, your portfolio (read and add), live CardChain listings, and player stats.

Which cards are covered?

Sports cards — baseball, basketball, football and hockey — including parallels and every grade level. Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece are not in the catalogue the connector reads.
