How do I connect CardChain AI to ChatGPT?

Open the CardChain AI app in ChatGPT's app directory, tap Try in chat, and sign in to CardChain once. From then on ChatGPT can price any sports card, read PSA, BGS and SGC population, run the grading ROI before you submit, identify a card from a photo, and read and add to your own portfolio. It takes about two minutes, needs no browser extension, and finishes on a phone.

What you can ask once it’s connected

What's a 2023 Bowman Chrome Victor Wembanyama worth?
Should I grade my 2018 Prizm Luka Doncic rookie?
What's the PSA 10 population on a 2003 Topps Chrome LeBron rookie?
Show me my portfolio sorted by value
Add a 2020 Prizm Justin Herbert rookie, I paid $40
Is $180 a good price for a PSA 9 2018 Prizm Luka?
How has the 2023 Bowman Chrome Wemby auto trended over 30 days?

More than a price feed

A price lookup tells you what a card sold for. That is the easy half. The decisions collectors actually face — submit this or sell it raw, is this listing a deal, which of my cards is carrying the collection — need the price put next to something else: the population at each grade, the submission cost, what you paid. CardChain computes those together and hands back a verdict with the figures behind it, rather than a number for a model to narrate.

Under the hood that is 11 tools: search_cards, get_card_price, get_population, should_i_grade, get_portfolio, add_to_portfolio, find_card_to_add, find_card_for_grading, get_cardchain_listings, get_player_stats, get_capabilities.

Settle a card from a photo, in the chat

Card identification is the hard half of card pricing — get the parallel wrong and every number after it is wrong. Send a picture of the card into the conversation and CardChain identifies the exact card, parallel and grade, shows the matches it considered, and prices the one you confirm. No app switch, no typing out a card name you are guessing at.

One account, one portfolio

The cards you add in the iOS or Android app are the cards ChatGPT reads, and a card you add mid-conversation is on your phone before you put it down. Values refresh against the same market data everything else on the platform uses, so the app and the chat never quote you two different numbers.

No browser extension. Setup finishes on a phone.

CardChain is a native ChatGPT app and a standard Claude connector. There is nothing to install in a browser, no desktop-only step, and no API key to copy between sites. You sign in once, on CardChain's own page, from the same phone you photograph cards with.

How to connect CardChain AI to ChatGPT

  1. Open the CardChain AI app in ChatGPTSearch for CardChain AI in ChatGPT's app directory, or use the Open in ChatGPT button on this page. There is nothing to download.
  2. Tap Try in chatChatGPT adds CardChain to the conversation. You do not need Developer Mode and you do not need to paste a server URL — that route is for Claude.
  3. Sign in to CardChain onceYou are sent to CardChain's own sign-in page. Use the same account as the iOS or Android app and your portfolio is there immediately. CardChain never sees a password belonging to anyone else, and there are no keys to copy.
  4. Ask in plain EnglishAnswers render as interactive cards — a price with its 30-day trend, a grading ROI with the population behind it — rather than a paragraph of prose.

What it will and will not do

It reads the catalogue, reads population, runs the grading math, and reads and adds to your own portfolio. It will show you live marketplace listings. It will not complete a purchase for you — buying happens in the app or on the site, where you confirm it yourself — and it has no access to anything outside your own CardChain account.

Questions

Is there a CardChain app in ChatGPT?

Yes. CardChain AI is listed in ChatGPT's app directory — search for it there, or use the Open in ChatGPT button on this page. Tap Try in chat, sign in once, and ChatGPT can price cards, run grading ROI and read your portfolio from then on.

Do I need ChatGPT Plus?

CardChain does not require a paid ChatGPT plan of its own. Which apps and connectors are available to you is OpenAI's decision and varies by plan and region — if you cannot see the app directory, that is a ChatGPT setting rather than a CardChain one. The Claude connector and the iOS and Android apps are free alternatives either way.

Do I need a browser extension?

No. CardChain is a native ChatGPT app. Nothing to install in Chrome, no desktop-only step, and setup finishes on a phone.

Can ChatGPT price my card without connecting anything?

It can guess, and the guess is a remembered price from training data rather than a current one. Card values move week to week on an injury, a playoff run or a print run, so for anything you are about to buy, sell or grade the difference is real money. With CardChain connected the figure is read live.

Can it see my collection?

Only if you sign in, and only your own. Once you do, get_portfolio reads the same holdings as the phone app, and add_to_portfolio writes to them. It has no access to anyone else's account.

Is it free?

Yes. It is free to start, with no credit card. Search any card, see real-time pricing and population, and run the grading math without paying anything. Pro is for power users.
